Description: Learn about the latest surgical innovations available for patients with primary and secondary lymphedema. This session will provide an overview of advanced microsurgical techniques—including lymphaticovenous anastomosis (LVA), free lymph node transfer, lymphedema liposuction, and mass excision—along with guidance on patient selection, referral timing, and expected outcomes.
Objectives: At the end of this session, participants will be able to describe current microsurgical treatment options for primary and secondary lymphedema, including LVA, lymph node transfer, liposuction, and mass excision, and apply evidence-based criteria for patient selection, referral timing, and anticipated outcomes in clinical practice.
