Description: Explore essential wound management strategies tailored for lymphedema specialists in Wounds Are Not "Swell". This on-demand course provides practical insights on setting effective wound care goals, accurately assessing and documenting skin and wound progress, and selecting optimal dressings for lymphedema-related issues. Gain valuable tips from wound care experts to support your patients’ healing journey. 

Objectives:  At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Develop goals for wound management in common wounds that occur with lymphedema patients.
- Accurately assess, document and track progress of skin and wound issues.
- Utilize the most appropriate dressings and wound care for lymphedema - associated skin and wound issues.
- Utilize tips and tricks used by wound care clinicians to assist in your patients’ wound healing goals.

Presenter:  Danae Kissner, PA-C, CWS, CLT
Danae Kissner has worked in the world of lymphedema, dermatology and wound care for over 20 years. Danae is an ABWM certified wound specialist and Certified Lymphedema Specialist currently working for United Wound Healing, offering advanced wound care, dermatology and lymphedema management for high risk, underserved areas of Central Washington. She is also a passionate educator, who mentors current and future healthcare providers, as well as fostering team-based approaches to offering optimal patient care in SNF/Rehab settings.

Audience: PT/PTA, OT/OTA, MD, RN, PA, NP, LMT and other healthcare providers

This course will offer maximum of 1 contact hour.

To successfully complete this course and earn CEUs, participants must:
- fulfill the attendance requirement, you must watch the course in its entirety,
- complete the post-event survey, and
- complete the quiz questions for learning assessment with a minimum overall score of 70%.

CEU certificates will be issued upon the successful fulfillment of all continuing education requirements.

PT/PTA Attendees:  The NLN is recognized by the New York State of Education Department’s State Board for physical therapists and physical therapy assistants as an approved provider of continuing education.  This virtual activity is offered at up to 1 CEU.

OT/OTA Attendees: The National Lymphedema Network is recognized by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) as an Approved Provider for professional development. The assignment of AOTA CEUs does not imply endorsement of specific course content, products, or clinical procedures by AOTA or indicate AOTA approval of a certification or other professional recognition.
