Elevating Wound Management: From Core Principles to Advanced Compression and Imaging Techniques This MicroConference is designed for clinicians seeking to strengthen their foundational wound‑care knowledge while integrating emerging tools and technologies into practice. This half‑day program brings together experts to review common skin and wound presentations, differentiate venous and arterial etiologies, apply evidence‑informed compression strategies, and explore the role of thermal imaging in early detection and clinical decision‑making. Participants will gain practical, clinically relevant insights that support accurate assessment, improved documentation, and more effective, patient‑centered wound management across care settings. By the end of this microconference, participants will be able to:
- Identify common skin and wound conditions and apply appropriate documentation practices to support accurate assessment, communication, and care planning.
- Differentiate venous and arterial wounds based on clinical presentation, underlying pathophysiology, and key assessment findings to guide appropriate referral and management.
- Evaluate evidence‑informed compression options for wound care and determine when and how to safely integrate compression into treatment plans.
- Describe the clinical utility of thermal imaging techniques and interpret basic imaging patterns to support early detection, monitoring, and decision‑making in wound management.
