The National Lymphedema Network proudly offers complimentary compression garments to individuals with lymphedema who need support obtaining this essential part of treatment.
A meaningful resource for patients and clinicians
Compression garments are a vital part of lymphedema management, yet many patients struggle to access them because of limited insurance coverage or financial hardship. The NLN Garment Program helps bridge that gap by providing medically necessary garments to eligible individuals who might otherwise go without them.
With an estimated 3–5 million Americans living with lymphedema, the need is significant. To help preserve the sustainability of the program, applications are limited to patients working with NLN Clinician and Organization-level Members. We are deeply grateful for the extraordinary support of these members, whose commitment helps extend care to patients in need.
Who can participate
If you are a patient interested in the Garment Program, your lymphedema therapist must be an active NLN Clinician or Organization-level Member. Applications are submitted only by these members—on behalf of their patients—after the patient has received a comprehensive evaluation, complete decongestive therapy, and a garment assessment and fitting. This process ensures that garment recipients receive the most appropriate and effective compression garments for their individual needs.
This protocol aligns with the NLN’s mission to promote best practice standards and maintain a trusted clinical connection throughout the application process.

Continuing Marilyn Westbrook’s legacy of care
The NLN Garment Program was established in 2008 by the Westbrook family in memory of Marilyn Westbrook, whose experience with cancer-related lymphedema revealed just how difficult it can be to obtain proper compression garments. Her wish was simple and powerful: that no patient should have to endure the same pain, frustration, and barriers to care that she faced.
That legacy continues today through the National Lymphedema Network and its garment sponsors, whose partnership helps bring comfort, dignity, and support to patients across the lymphatic community.
